HOLLISTER, Calif. – The San Benito County Coroner has identified the woman killed in a two-vehicle collision north of Hollister Thursday afternoon as 22-year-old Florali Idelia Gabriel-Carrillo of Hollister.

The crash occurred around 3:51 p.m. at the intersection of Fairview Road and Comstock Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, a Chevrolet Silverado collided broadside with a Honda Civic. Gabriel-Carrillo, an adult passenger in the Civic, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Preliminary CHP reports indicate two juveniles were also in the Honda Civic along with another adult. Three people, including the children, sustained suspected serious injuries and were transported for medical care. The exact circumstances leading to the crash remain under investigation by the CHP.
The collision forced the closure of all lanes at the intersection for several hours, causing significant traffic delays before the roads were reopened.
In a statement, CHP Area Commander Capt. Noel Coady extended condolences to the victim’s loved ones. “This incident reminds each of us to always remain attentive while driving,” Coady said. “Intersections can be busy with pedestrian and vehicular traffic. Limiting distractions and adhering to traffic laws can help ensure we all reach our destination safely.”
The investigation into the fatal crash is ongoing.
