Dean Prentiss Walpole, NH Obituary, Community mourns man who passed away after battle with cancer
The fairways of Hooper Golf Course feel quieter today, as we share the sorrowful news that longtime member and dear friend, Dean Prentiss, has passed away after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Dean was more than just a familiar face in the clubhouse or a name on the tee sheet; he was a cornerstone of our community. His presence—marked by a warm smile, a ready handshake, and a genuine love for the game—defined what it means to be part of the Hooper family. Through good rounds and bad, Dean embodied the spirit of grace and perseverance, qualities that shone even brighter during his recent illness.
His battle was fought with the same quiet dignity and strength he displayed on the course. Even as he faced his greatest challenge, Dean’s concern for others and his enduring optimism never wavered, inspiring all who knew him.
While the void he leaves is profound, our memories of Dean are a lasting tribute. We will remember him in the gentle morning light on the first tee, in the shared laughter after a putt dropped, and in the enduring camaraderie that makes this place so special.
Rest in peace, Dean. You’ll be greatly missed, but never forgotten. Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family and all who loved him.
